The Game menu can be opened as a context menu by right-clicking the selected game(s) the batch renaming entry has been moved to this menu and as well applies to selected/right-clicked games. A click on the link “Powered by ” in the details view opens the web page of the game itself instead of the home page the game synopsis has been added to the details view. Added a small column to the tableview that shows the miniature of the game cover. Missing covers are downloaded as soon as games are browsed (this behavior can be disabled in the Open panel) the “Download all missing covers” menu has been removed. Saving and renaming of games can now be done via a token field where you can compose the new filename using some game details. The spinning progress indicator has been removed and games are fetched incrementally. The preferences panel has been removed the recurse depth option has been moved directly to the Open panel and the split option to the Convert panel, along with the output format option. Corrected fallback to the english cover image when no other was found for a game. When no internet connection can be established, instead of showing an empty space the missing cover image is set. Multi-part files are correctly renamed/removed. No more freezing when a lot of games are browsed. A single running conversion or either all conversions at once can be cancelled. After a drag has been performed, an alert is displayed if some game ids already exist with the option to skip the double entries, continue or abort. Using witgui windows#Multiple partitions/folders can be opened at the same time in different windows and conversions can be started by dragging a game from window to window. Added WBFS partition support for reading, adding, extracting, removing and recovering games (requires privileged permissions). wia files for both Wii and GameCube games. Trying to list the connected WBFS partitions causes a kernel panic on Lion (Mountain Lion is safe).Īdded support for reading/writing. A notification is sent on Mountain Lion after a conversion has completed. Browsing WBFS partitions is not allowed on Lion anymore to prevent kernel panics. Hope this helps! I must say I'm very pleased with my modded Wii, which I feel is a far superior alternative to retro gaming than some of these devices on the market today (including the mini console series).Added option for creating a parent directory with the same name when creating a file.Īdded a “languages” item in the menu to compose filenames commas are allowed now. Partitioning my drive was an easy way to dodge the whole splitting issue. You can successfully split to 1GB files, but it just ends up being a lot of little files to manage, and I was concerned that might compromise game performance. However when I use Witgui, the split files are slightly larger than 4GB, which I discovered causes loading issues. I opted to go this route, because I only have a Mac, so when it comes to splitting files, I have to use Witgui. So far this configuration has performed flawlessly. The second partition (800GB) is formatted with NTFS for Wii games. One partition (200GB) is formatted with fat32 for GameCube games (which are never larger than 4GB). Some people recommend splitting the file, but I tried a different solution I partitioned my 1TB hard drive. Setup was easy except for when it came to transferring files 4GB or larger on fat32 (which you cannot do on fat32, yet those larger files are some of the better Wii games in my opinion). Using witgui for mac#The benefit to using Seagate is that they offer a free downloadable driver for Mac users so they can format to NTFS (which you cannot do on a Mac by default). It is now September and I haven't had one single issue with my hard drive and USB Loader GX/nintendont config. Here's a link to the Amazon seller if you'd like to get one for yourself. Using witgui portable#INSTEAD of getting a USB drive (for reasons mentioned by jeannotte, THANKS jean!), I acquired a Seagate Portable 1TB external hard drive, which was just a little over $50 with shipping. At that point I was looking into a USB drive for my GameCube and Wii games since the USB reads faster than the SD cards. Otherwise I would have chimed in!Īnyway, when I created this post last April, I was already using an 64GB SD card for my homebrew channel apps/retro games. WTF, I see all these responses to my post, and I never received a single notification until today when the view count hit 1000.
